'Dance like nobody is watching'
About Me
Movement has been a thread throughout my life ; from gymnastics in childhood to yoga, primal movement, pilates and embodied movement practices as an adult. I have spent most of my life practicing, studying and teaching movement. Over the years, I have seen directly how the quality of our movement shapes the way we feel, function and experience our bodies, and life itself.
As a mover and a movement teacher for the last twenty years, I have witnessed lives being slowly transformed as joints are released, fascia is awakened, tissues dissolve and the breath deepens. I have a natural intuitive sense of the body that effortlessly translates to my Amatsu practice. Coupled with years of technical training and a natural curiosity for movement mechanics and anatomy, this has greatly served me as a therapist.
The body is always telling a story: our lived experiences are reflected in how we breathe, move, hold tension and respond to the world around us. My role as a practitioner is to help midwife that story — to ‘listen’ to the tissues and support the body in restoring greater ease, fluidity and freedom of movement.

How Amatsu helped me
My interest in Amatsu began through personal experience. In my late twenties a persistent pelvic pain gradually began to restrict how I moved. Over time it began to affect the quality of my life. I eventually found my way to an Amatsu practitioner. Within a few treatments, a long-held pattern of restriction - with its origins in an accident I had at nineteen - began to unwind and I experienced a freedom of movement I hadn't felt in years.
The experience profoundly changed the way I thought about the body. In the words of Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi, founder of Amatsu, I had learned to 'float' in my walk. To this day, I continue to get regular Amatsu treatments. Once you feel how effortlessly your body can move, it's hard to go back.
