How will I feel after the treatment?

Each person is unique and the reasons for consultation are diverse, so there is no specific answer to this.

Typically, you will feel lighter, looser, more mobile, energised, relaxed, possibly pain free. Breathing is typically slower and deeper, the nervous system has been recalibrated, you will generally feel more positive about things.

You may also feel very tired, as if you had run a marathon. This is normal, muscles that have been hypertonic have been released and can now relax.  In this case it's recommended to rest and hydrate well. The fatigue does not typically last more than 2 days.

The symptoms of body pain, usually the primary reason for the consultation, generally disappear during the first three to six sessions, gradually or quickly depending on the case.

What can I expect in the first session?

I will first ask you for a brief medical history followed by an informal chat to get to know you better. We will discuss the reason you are seeking Amatsu, go over the Amatsu treatment protocol and align expectations.
The treatment takes place dressed, preferably with loose and comfortable clothes , taking care to remove any watches, glasses, jewellery and / or belts if necessary.

What techniques will you use?

Amatsu is a hands-on therapy. I will use a combination of muscle testing, palpation and soft tissue mobilisation techniques to release restrictions. When the bones, joints, nerves, ligaments, soft tissue and viscera are free to move and function uninhibited, it reduces excess stress on the nervous system and the body is then better resourced to move towards equilibrium.
